Brisbane Transport operates one of the modernist bus fleets around Australia, with the bulk of bus purchases since 2001 being low-floor, air-conditioned, and compressed natural (CNG) buses.

The 900 strong fleet operate from seven depots around Brisbane, with a small few leased to private operators for use on Brisbane Transport routes.

The bus routes operated by Brisbane Transport are under contract to TransLink, a department of Queensland Transport. Brisbane Transport operate routes as far as Strathpine& Brighton in the North, Wynnum in the East, Eight Mile Plains & Browns Plains in the South and Moggill in the West.

There are over 200 bus routes, with numerous bus routes shared between each depot for greater flexibility of work.
